Sponsored Programs

Greatest Goal Ministries offers a holistic approach to supporting Sierra Leone's disabled population.  We provide water, health care and sanitation, sports and advocacy services to disabled settlements around the country.

Water and Sanitation

Access to clean water and sanitation is a major chalalenge for most of Sierra Leone.  The disabled are especially affected by this problem.  GGM recognized that providing safe water and latrines will prevent basic illnesses and lead to better health outcomes.

In 2011 GGM installed its first water well to provide clean water for the clinic and the surrounding community.  In the next two years, GGM plans to build fifteen wells and latrines that will serve most of the disabled settlements across the country.

Free Medical Clinic

In 2009 GGM opened a community health clinic that provides free medical care, a pharmacy and basic laboratory services.  The clinic prioritizes disabled patients from across the region, and also serves patients from the surrounding community.  Local community health workers operate the clinic.

GGM hopes to expand the clinic and lab services to include a malnutrition center, TB testing, digital X-ray and ultrasound (which will transmit images directly to US radiologists for diagnoses).  In addition, GGM will train outreach health workers to target disabled communities in Sierra Leone.

Education

The Lansana Education Assistance Program (LEAP) connects donors directly to their sponsored children; delivering not only financial assistance for tuition, uniforms and supplies, but also your personal communication with your child(ren).

Skills Training

Independence and self-reliance is important to the disabled.  Through job skill training, education and small social enterprises, the disabled can provide for themselves and their families.  We are currently implementing a key-making busisness and obtaining the tools to begin a small construction business.  Your donations will fund the start-ups that will provide livelihood for the disabled.

Sports

In an effort to reintegrate and empower the disabled, GGM has created a Disability Sports Association.  All disability groups will be able to participate.  GGM will help provide equipment and uniforms, and will assist with organizing disabled sports tournaments.

Advocacy

The disabled advocacy program provides a platform for the disabled to connect, share their stories, and make their needs known to the government.  GGM will do this by sponsoring phone-in radio programs onmajor issues concerning the disabled as well as basic health information.
