How It Works:
Case Statement
During the country's civil war, over 24,000 innocent people in Sierra Leone had limbs brutally amputated by rebels with axes and machetes. Those who survived now live in abject poverty and are social outcasts in the poorest country in the world. Your school or club can powerfully impact their lives by participating in this fundraising program.
If each team member, supported by their family and friends, agree to donate $1.00 for each goal made during the season, the campaign will eventually fund the essential projects aimed at empowering and restoring the lives of these precious people.
For an average game this is equivalent to a cup of coffee for each person.
It's easy!
It won't be long and your team will be signed up and ready to participate in the "Goals for Sierra Leone" fundraising program.
Just follow the seven simple steps below and start your season off a little differently.
By joining us, the joy and excitement of scoring a goal is not for the victory or bragging rights, but rather for the lives in Sierra Leone that will be changed by that Goal. Now that's something to brag about!!
Let's Get Started!
1) Click here to register your team. Fill out the form and mail or email it back to us.
2) Once your team is signed up, download enough copies of the the "Information for Athletes" document so that each player has a copy. This will allow them to explain our mission to perspective donors.
3) As the players collect pledges, they can keep a record of them by completing this form: "Athlete Donor Form".
4) Download the donor "Thank You" cards (4 to a page). Your athletes should leave a card with each donor even if they choose not to pledge. Part of the solution is knowing there's a problem; please help us tell the world about the needs of the amputees of Sierra Leone!
5) If you send along a photo of your team with your registration, we will add it (and any other information about the team you wish to share) to our photo gallery page of participants. See the "Photos of Participating Teams" - then join the fun!
6) At the end of the season, send us your pledges (complete and include "Donation Submission Form") and you will earn your team their own page on our website! See pages of past participants by clicking "Goals Hall of Fame".
7) When it comes time for your end of the year celebration, print your "Ambassador of Peace" certificates. Let the coach sign them and - no matter the outcome of the season - everyone is a winner!
Now your team has made a difference -
"Changing lives, one goal at a time"!

A new program! The Lansana Education Assistance Project is a way for you to form a direct relationship with a child from Sierra Leone. With a small recurring donation, you can ensure that the child you chose to sponsor gets a good education. Throughout the years, write letters and send pictures ~ you will certainly receive a grateful response and be proud as you watch your child mature through the years! Click here to learn more.
